Abstract: The equiprobability bias is defined as a tendency to believe that every random process must have equiprobable outcomes We first present a critical review of studies about the equiprobability bias and the subsequent errors.. We also question the mathematical theories of randomness with regard to the role of equiprobability. We conclude by showing the benefits of considering the errors mentioned in the literature as a consequence of an ‘equiprobabilty heuristic’ whose limits are not fully understood, rather than of a misconception.
